The W:O:A is constantly striving to improve services for Metalheads with disabilities and to enable them to enjoy the festival as fully as possible. To this end, there is an accessible camping area specifically for Metalheads with disabilities: the Wheels of Steel Area.
To camp in this area, a pitch must be booked, as space is limited. Additional accessible shower and toilet facilities are also available at all major sanitary sites within the camping areas.
We also offer visitors with severe disabilities the option of bringing a companion free of charge. Click here for the form.
One of the following forms of proof must be provided:
- the ‘B’ mark on the severe disability card or
- a medical certificate confirming temporary or permanent limitations equivalent to the ‘B’ mark on the severe disability card, together with a valid photo ID.
- Internationally recognised disability cards (e.g. Nimbus Card) or official documents from your home country, in German or English, or otherwise with a translation (e.g. Blue EU Parking Card) with corresponding proof for a companion.
